Speaking about Jammu and Kashmir, India’s Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, recently made some comments that Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, reaffirmed that the Kashmir issue is acknowledged internationally and that it needs to be resolved in accordance with UNSC resolutions as well as the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
“The Jammu and Kashmir dispute is a globally acknowledged issue that must be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people as well as UNSC resolutions. For South Asia to be peaceful and stable, this ongoing war must be resolved, Baloch stressed on Sunday.
Jaishankar said, “I believe the era of uninterrupted dialogue with Pakistan is over,” in his statement on Friday. Repercussions follow actions, and in the case of Jammu and Kashmir, I think we’ve resolved Article 370.” He went on, saying, “What kind of relationship we can potentially consider with Pakistan is the current topic. I want to be clear that we are not just watching things happen; we will act appropriately whether they go in a good or bad direction.”
Baloch vehemently disagreed in her reaction to any notion that a unilateral solution to the Jammu and Kashmir conflict has been or could be implemented. Such assertions, which flagrantly ignore the reality on the ground, are not only dangerously delusional but also misleading. This truth cannot and will not be changed by India’s unilateral activities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK),” the speaker declared
Baloch further emphasized that Pakistan will react decisively, even though it is still dedicated to diplomacy and communication, to any hostile behavior. “True peace and stability in South Asia can only be achieved through a settlement that aligns with UNSC resolutions and respects the inalienable rights of the Kashmiri people,” she said.
In order to ensure enduring peace in the area, Pakistan encouraged India to desist from its “provocative rhetoric and baseless assertions” regarding IIOJK and to participate in serious discussion for a just and permanent resolution of the Kashmir conflict.
Pakistan also emphasized that attempting to resolve the Kashmir dispute unilaterally will only heighten hostilities between the two nations.The Foreign Office emphasized that the continuous breaches of human rights in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) cannot be ignored by the international community. Pakistan’s top priority remains the situation of the Kashmiri people, who have suffered through decades of conflict.
Baloch emphasized that upholding the right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination is necessary for long-term peace in the area. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the cause of the Kashmiri people, stressing that no amount of force or unilateral action can quell their justifiable ambitions.

In compliance with international law and UNSC resolutions, she also urged the international community to fulfill its responsibility of assisting in the fair settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
Baloch concluded by pleading with India to change its mind and start a positive dialogue with Pakistan to resolve all unresolved matters, including the conflict over Kashmir. She issued a warning, saying that both countries must seek a fair and peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute because any longer delay will only fuel unrest in the area
Pakistan’s Foreign Office emphasized once more the necessity of a global strategy to address the Kashmir dispute, emphasizing that bilateral discussions have not been adequate on their own. Baloch emphasized the significance of engaging the international world, specifically the United Nations, in order to foster communication between Pakistan and India. “The international community has a moral and legal responsibility to ensure the implementation of UNSC resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir,” she stated.
Baloch also discussed the wider security ramifications for the region and the world of the unresolved Kashmir dispute. She pointed out that given both India’s and Pakistan’s nuclear weapons, the current situation in Kashmir could turn into a more serious conflict. The consequences of ignoring this problem are too great. The safety and tranquility of South Asia—and the globe, for that matter—depend on the Kashmir problem being resolved justly,” Baloch cautioned.
Baloch drew attention to the pain that the Kashmiri people have undergone, especially in the wake of India’s unilateral activities in IIOJK, while highlighting the human cost of the conflict. She urged the international community to intervene immediately, denouncing the region’s reported violations of human rights as well as the ongoing enforcement of curfews and communication blackouts.
Baloch said, “Silence in the face of such atrocities is not an option.” She called on nations and international human rights organizations to denounce the abuses taking place in IIOJK and to put pressure on India to follow international laws and standards.

employing diplomatic avenues to resolve the conflict. Declaring, “A peaceful and prosperous South Asia is only possible when the legitimate rights of all its people, including the Kashmiri people, are respected and upheld,” she urged India to give up its stubbornness and start a real, results-oriented conversation.
Baloch concluded by expressing optimism that a resolution to the Kashmir dispute could be reached with international assistance and sincere commitments from both parties. “Dialogue and understanding, not force or unilateral action, are the paths that lead to peace. We implore India to take the peaceful route,” she stated, reiterating Pakistan’s continued willingness to communicate and its dedication to helping the people of Jammu and Kashmir achieve a fair and long-lasting resolution.
