META POWER INTL INC. (OTCMKTS:MTPR): Staff Layoffs Included CEO And EVP Of Business Development

Today META POWER INTL INC. (OTCMKTS:MTPR) announced staff layoffs. The layoffs were called for as an outcome of a projected decline in revenues which is expected by 3Q14. Among the key people in the list were Rande Bruhn, the President and Chief Executive Officer as well as Edwin Gibson, Executive Vice President – Business Development. However, Mr. Gibson is supposed to continue on the Company’s Board of Directors as the Non-Executive Chairman.

Additionally, Messrs. Gibson and Bruhn will also continue to serve on the Company’s Board of Directors as its members and they are also supposed to continue some of their work for the Company as consultants.

META POWER INTL INC. (OTCMKTS:MTPR) announced that total fourteen employees have been laid off. John E. Prouty has been elected as the President and CEO of the Company. He is current Chief Operating Officer and he held the new responsibility with immediate effect from Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Mr. Prouty was also elected as the President and CEO of META POWER’s subsidiary MetaPower, Inc., as well as its subsidiary, MetaPower Canada, Ltd.

The Company recently holds several international patents and four US Patents on the technology known as “Universal Control-based Data Architecture – UcoDA”. Since the release of UCoDA the company has made continuous improvements and now this technology is in its 5th generation.
