HyperSolar, Inc. (OTCMKTS:HYSR) Demonstrates Working Prototype Hydrogen Generator

HyperSolar, Inc. (OTCMKTS:HYSR) released a video demonstrating a prototype of its new hydrogen generation prototype. The company has stated that the generator can be scaled, as per the requirements of the user, at or near the point of distribution. The generator makes use of sunlight and a water source, to produce hydrogen for commercial purposes. The video was made near the Salton Sea, in California and shows renewable hydrogen being generated, using the polluted water from the sea.

The company noted that the prototype was also able to purify the water, by breaking down the contaminants, allowing only pure water to enter the chamber, ready to be split using sunlight. A patent is also pending for the design of HYSR’s hydrogen production particle. The technology makes use of a high-voltage solar cell, enclosed in a catalytic coating, with a membrane separator. HyperSolar has claimed that the protective coating would allow the device to run for hundreds of hours, even in very corrosive environments.

In addition to this, the video also shows a fuel cell, connected to the device, which makes use of the produced hydrogen, to generate electricity. In order to demonstrate the fuel cell capabilities, the system powers two light-bulbs, connected to the generator. Tim Young, the CEO of HYSR, expressed his pleasure at following-up on the company’s goal of developing a prototype. He pointed out that they could now shift their focus on scalability. The CEO also revealed that this would eventually provide a blueprint to meet consumer demands, in industrial and commercial applications.

HyperSolar has noted that its success can be mainly attributed to the technological advancements achieved through its new hires and research agreements. This particularly includes research agreements with the University of Iowa and the University of California, Santa Barbara.

HyperSolar, Inc. (OTCMKTS:HYSR) moved up by 38.1% in terms of its share value, on a trade volume of 19.9 million, during the September 28 trading session, to reach a close at $0.0145 per share.
