Air Canada Inc. (OTCMKTS:AIDIF): Announces New Executive Appointment

On August 29, 2014, Air Canada Inc. (OTCMKTS:AIDIF)’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Calin Rovinescu announced the following organizational re-alignment, which will take place effective Monday, September 1, 2014.

Air Canada’s former Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Benjamin Smith is appointed as President, Passenger Airlines. Mr. Smith in his new role, along with his present responsibilities, will oversee cost and revenue for passenger airline activities. Mr. Smith will continue to report Mr. Rovinescu. The company plans to optimize the operating profitability through this organizational re-alignment. The company noted that is structural re-organization is consistent with organizational structures at other large U.S. and European airlines.

Mr. Calin Rovinescu commented that throughout his 20 years of tenure with the company, Mr. Smith has continuously demonstrated his industry knowledge, passion and proven leadership and has also contributed significantly to company’s record revenues and evolution of its services, products and airline alliances. In the coming phase of company’s development, it will require to have an even greater focus on its international activities and network and also continue to drive towards sustainable profitability.
